Chris Jones is a New Hampshire–based fly tier, writer, and passionate trout chaser who spends as much time at the vise as he does on the water. From his home base in Dover, Chris chases wild and stocked fish across New England and documents the journey through his brand, Back Alley Fly.

A self-described “everyday angler with an obsessive streak,” Chris loves creating durable, fishy patterns that are accessible to newer tiers while still earning a permanent slot in any serious box. He leans on his REGAL® vise for everything from tiny midges to beefy streamers, appreciating its rock-solid hook hold and no-nonsense functionality during long tying sessions.

When he’s not tying or fishing, Chris enjoys sharing practical tips, beginner-friendly tying content, and stories from the road to help more people feel confident picking up a vise and stepping into the river.
